At Keep: Birthdays, we believe celebrating the people you love should never come at the expense of your personal privacy. Our app is architected with a privacy-first, on-device design philosophy.

Contact book scanning occurs locally. Your raw address book is never sold or broadcasted.

1. Information We Collect
Account Credentials: When you register via Email, Google Sign-In, or Facebook Login, we collect your verified email address, display name, and avatar URL to authenticate your account and synchronize your data.
Birthday Records: Names, dates of birth, turning age, gender designations, gift ideas, budget amounts, and notes you create within the application are saved to your secure cloud database partition and cached locally.
Contact Photos & Avatars: Photos you choose for your contacts are stored locally and uploaded to our secure Firebase Cloud Storage bucket for multi-device sync.
2. Device Address Book & Contact Permissions
If you use our "1-Tap Import from Contacts" feature, the app requests permission to read your device's address book. This scan is executed strictly on your local device. We extract only contact names and birthdates for contacts you explicitly select. We never upload your address book in bulk or share it with any third parties.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To calculate exact countdowns, turning ages, milestone badges, and Western & Chinese zodiac signs.
- To schedule high-reliability local morning push notifications on your device.
- To power our combinatorial AI Natural Language Generation (NLG) engine for bespoke wishes and rhyming poems.
- To enable real-time cloud synchronization across your authorized personal devices.
4. Data Security & Cloud Storage
All network communications between the Keep: Birthdays app and our cloud backend are encrypted using Transport Layer Security (HTTPS/TLS 1.3). User data is hosted on Google Cloud Firebase with strict user-authenticated security rules ensuring only your authenticated account can access your birthday entries.
5. Account Deletion & Permanent Data Wipe (GDPR / CCPA)
You have full ownership of your data at all times. You can permanently delete your entire profile and all associated birthday records, notes, and avatars directly inside the mobile app by navigating to Profile & Settings ➔ Delete Account & Data.
Upon confirmation, all records linked to your user ID are immediately and irrevocably deleted from our Firestore database and Cloud Storage buckets.
